Measure of expression
This is our latest collection. This shoot was a collaboration with Creative Director Omar Monroy and photographer Bonny Melendez.
For this project, I crafted pieces that encapsulate my artistic vision in one photo shoot. In response to rising precious metal costs, I chose to create even larger, more impactful pieces. I refuse to shrink.
The Measure of Expression can be read many ways, noting shifts in emotion and vibration, from the desert mirage to the buzz of a bee to the stillness of a paused moment.
freeform is a state of mind
We just closed our annual 5-day lapidary and inlay intensive in Brooklyn, NY. My students pushed well past their design boundaries and truly persevered throughout the course.
As a teacher, I champion experimentation and flexibility. I encourage my students to feel free to change their minds during the design process and let the work take them on a ride. It was wonderful to see that philosophy in action during this session.
One for the books!
It's no secret that my approach to creating and teaching inlay is unique and deeply hands-on.
I'm speechless looking at what my students have made.
They've produced something truly outstanding, transforming raw earth into intricate and vibrant stone art.

solo exhibition: THE SHAPE OF MEMORY
NYC JEWELRY WEEK 2025 - BROOKLYN, NY WAS A SUCCESS

thank you: ABC STONE
What began as a solo exhibition and 10-year retrospective for NYC Jewelry Week had blossomed into something far more expansive and resonant.
The Shape of Memory traced a decade of Fati Genese's lapidary and inlay art, where shifting colors, materials, and inspirations marked an artist in transformation. Finished works were shown with sketches and photographs that revealed the ideas behind each theme. Interdisciplinary artist Rohini Moradi expanded the exhibition with an immersive soundscape drawn from the voices of stones, creating a multisensory meditation on matter, memory, and imagination.
retrospective + artist talk + live demo
We invited attendees to join us for a live lapidary demonstration within the exhibition. In this brief but immersive session, visitors experienced the tactile rhythm of shaping stone using a single cabbing machine, the process artists use to reveal form and texture within raw material. It wasn't a performance at a distance, but a moment to come closer: to feel the hum of the wheel, to witness how surface met motion, and to take part if desired. Together, we explored how transformation began not in the polish, but in the first touch of stone and hand.
THE COLLECTOR SERIES
Every collection begins with an internal shift. The work becomes a record of that change, unfolding in small, evolving chapters shaped by attention and observation. Many works remain active through regular inquiry. The most recent of 40+ collections are shared here as they become available.
